The Pyrotechnic Artists of
Texas is a not-for profit membership of fireworks lovers, formed in
1997, consisting of all types of interests in fireworks. Some of the
FireAnts are Licensed Pyrotechnic Operators who shoot commercial
displays, some are non-licensed hobbyists and enthusiasts who like to
shoot and observe fireworks, as well as many who are involved in the
distribution and /or sales of professional, and consumer fireworks
products. We simply cannot get enough of good fireworks, and we'd be
quite happy if we could celebrate the "Fourth" EVERY month of the year,
and we relish any opportunity to "Smell the Smoke"!
Our Club by-laws, safety
information, and membership application are included in this web site
for those who might want to download them to help start a club of their
own in their home state.
We gather as a club group at least three times a year in Texas in the following regions:
North Central (Dallas Ft. Worth) - April or May
Mid Eastern Central (Austin) - October or November
South Eastern Central (Houston) - February
Our Fireworks club
gatherings consist of seminars in assembly of fireworks, fireworks
displays, Safety techniques for operation, Safety demos, and various
other club activities. Our club gatherings also provide family
opportunities to enjoy fireworks with our children. Our older children
are also encouraged to participate in some club events with consumer
fireworks under close Adult supervision, in safe surroundings. Safety
is always top priority in our crowd. Some of our members are Emergency
Medical Technicians or Paramedics who also serve as PAT Safety Officers
and coordinators.
Many of our FireAnt
members are also members of other fireworks clubs in the United States
that meet on a regular basis to shoot view, test and refine the
qualities of fireworks. There are 13 such clubs in addition to ours in
Texas, in the states of Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, New York,
California, Colorado, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Michigan.. to
mention a few. Many of our members are also members of the largest such
club, The Pyrotechnics Guild International, which now has 3000 members
throughout the world.
Happy and safe fireworks shooting to you!
